Arnoldo Carrillo has been tattooing since the 1980s and started Shades of Gray in 1992. He translated his gift for fine art drawing on canvas into unique tattoo art. Rather than work from a template, the origin of Arnoldo's art springs from a collaboration between the artist and the client. His gentle, positive nature creates the environment for the client and artist to share in the tattoo creation.

The requests for specific tattoo designs are as varied as his clients. He may be asked to create an accurate photographic facial image, a 2000 year old native Mayan glyph design, more recent native american primal designs, photographic realism of people or beautiful objects in nature, comic strip characters, or images from his imagination...

Each client request is thoughtfully considered, discussed with the client, and fullfilled to the client's ultimate satisfaction.
